There are some very good things about having an almost 11 year old boy. L10 is such a  hard worker, he's been on at us constantly to finish replacing the rotten deck boards, and he really does his bit.

Painting The Shed

 Since the painters decided they didn't quote for doing the shed (grrr) it has spent the winter clad in the foul olive green I so detest. But there's nothing like wanting to sell to give you inspiration to get stuff done. It was so hot we did the undercoat and two top coats all in one day, but I have to admit I did sub-contact out the high parts to Geeky Husband, interrupting his rotten deck board replacement job.

He worked so hard that he gave himself a new twist on the builder's crack.

 But the result was so worth it! The new deck furniture helps too :) Now there's just the deck fix and paint to make it all beauuuuuuudiful.

Chemist

P7 using her new chemistry set. She has declared that this old beach top that is too small and I tried to donate to a clothing bin, is her lab coat.

Today In My Kitchen

I think I was too grumpy today to blog it. I took a pic of worn out Geeky Husband asleep on the counch unfeasibly early after his crappy day, but that just seems too pedestrian.

He Did It!!!!!

Oh what a big day for us. After many, many years of part time study, Geeky Husband got the degree he deserved years ago but never actually completed.

 He was a happy man.

 I was a happy wife.

 His family were happy chaps.

 But nobody more so than geeky husband when he discovered he had graduated with honours. Whoop!

Hula Happiness

We had a grumpy old morning, but a bit of hula this evening helped end the day on a happy note. 

L10 is actually the one with all the hula moves. He can go indefinitely with one hoop and is pretty good with two.

But P7 had some pretty special moves all of her own that the camera managed to capture.
