Crazy Old Ladies

Meeting of crazy dollmakers this afternoon (I was the nerdiest and had made three - the tree sprite, the old lady bottom left and the mad French guy with the mo) and another get together with bookie old ladies this evening. Keeping socially connected just like a same person - check!

First Day Of Term

Spent the day reclaiming my sanity in the peace and quiet by putting more odd colours in my hair. I bought a boring brown because I thought I was over colours, but then couldn't quite bring myself to do it, so instead used up some colourful bits I had leftover in stripes. Here's the worst pic ever taken with an exceedingly dirty phone. It's still got a load of regrowth that I'm not bleaching, hence the hat. It's way more pink and orange and purple than this IRL.

Inside and Outside

Inside the house there was a hut and gemstone trading going on.

 Some gem polishing too.

Outside there was an emergence of the pink blossoms that the tuis just adore. Geeky Husband got these pretty shots from the balcony off our bedroom.

Soccer Practice

After an eventful day, nothing better than a kick around, and just look at those targets!

Happy Is. . .

wearing your new purple shoes with green striped tights.

Kids making music together. They started here:

so I'm not quite sure how they finished up here:

but it sounded like much fun was had.

Ooops, Some Other Days Of The Holidays

On Friday P10 was off with a mate, so L13 and I went to the movies, which is not very blogsworthy.

Yesterday we ventured out and about. Which is usually not very easy with two homebody children who are too big not to have an opinion.

But here they are, all outside and everything.

Because yeah, we totally stooped that low. Pokemon, noooooo, I know.

Tell me about that after you have tried to extricate my children from their familiar surroundings without drama.

Until then I'm going with happily walking and giggling.

The Fourth Day Of The Holidays

Slightly better parenting day.

Went out to foodhall for lunch, and both children chose curry and naan. Felt so happy sitting and eating  and looking at the loooong, loooong line at McDs that did not include us.

Haha, much worse photo though. That hair is so out of control he can no longer open his eyes it seems.

The Third Day Of The Holidays

We didn't have friends over so my children relaxed. I mean bickered. All day. And I got yelly and cried in the middle. So here's a nice picture of something good going on in my garden:

Second Day Of The Holidays

 Happy birthday Bunce!!

This evening we decided it was time for some vital education, so L&P got to watch BlackAdder. They found it hard to believe when I told them their Bunce used to have hair just like the king, Brian Blessed:

But I can prove it:

Slightly less scary, but clearly just as maniacal. Love you Bunce!

Birthday

I got old. Er. Had the most lovely laid back birthday and was completely spoilt rotten. I didn't get a pic of my dining room table covered in spoils, but frankly it would have just made you envious :)

I went out for the day with my invisible friend, thinking I had done a good job of keeping quiet that it was my birthday, only to be met at the door with birthday cakies and present. Naw, isn't she sweet?

We ventured out to the art gallery and she took amazing pics.

Came home and had a late lunch with my littlest, cool chick that she is.

Or utter weirdo. Whichever.

Embarrassing moment going to get Thai dinner and realising I had gone out in my slippies like the old codger I am.

Spent the evening being showered with gifts, and birthday chocolate mousse.  Not too shabby.   Thank you lovely family!

Saturday Stuff

It is a rare occasion when I get to have lunch with my Geeky Husband and no kids. P10 was at a friend's place and L13 was playing soccer, so we did the usual groceries skive, but snuck in lunch first. It was fab hanging out with you xx

We went back for the last 20 mins, and it was a great game. We could tell by the shouting and tense air that our team were doing ok. Mostly it's a calm atmosphere, and there is this sign up, which I heart big time:

Here is my boy doing his soccer thing.

Walking off humbly, post team cheer, after a 3-0 win on a glorious day.

Coach doesn't do player of the day shenanigans, but does give advice and pep talk. Today, he gave lots of props, and L13 was the second player he mentioned as having a great game.

So proud of my boy, and pleased he does this stuff.
